Budget Friendly DIY Custom Patio Sign

Well I kind of have a Big Announcement – I’m selling custom signs but it’s not how you think! Let me explain!

We started working on redoing our back porch last spring, you may remember some of that from my patriotic porch HERE. But we’ve slowly been getting everything we need, from the outdoor sectional, to the outdoor rug, etc. Because a lot of outdoor furniture sits so low to the ground, it left this large amount of brick exposed that just needed something to fill the visual space. I wanted a large patio sign but didn’t have the time to DIY anything and didn’t want to spend the amount it would cost to have one custom made and shipped.

So this got me thinking, how could i make a large statement sign for as frugal as possible? I was inspired by my friend Wendy’s front porch sign HERE and Heather’s patio sign HERE so I decided to design my own sign digitally. Then I just ordered a large canvas print of the sign for a as low of cost I could find, made a frame and VOILA! I got the rustic wood look that I wanted for a fraction of the cost! Another huge benefit of canvas is it’s super lightweight where a wooden sign this large (This is 4ft by 3ft) would weigh a lot!

It was seriously SO EASY! It got me thinking, if I had the need for a lower budget custom sign, I bet many others did too. So I decided to create an etsy store and will be selling custom digital signs where you get the file to upload and have printed yourself so you can shop around deals! The artwork sells for $15-$20 and then it is yours to use however you’d like!

There are hundreds of sign makers that are SOOO TALENTED and signs are sold in pretty much every single retailer out there. But I just wanted to offer up a different solution for customized signs that fit your family that won’t break the bank. I can’t wait to show you more designs but this patio one is just so fun! I’ve already sold a few and I’m loving seeing how you all are customizing them (a couple favorite customizations have been grandkids playin, story tellin, and people watchin).
