Whats Your Decorative Style?

Knowing your decorative style can be very important when it comes to interior design. I struggle with this because I like so many things about so many different styles but I want to make sure our home decor is cohesive throughout the house. I love the rustic/shabby chic decor but I try not to go overboard with it because our house itself and main furniture is more traditional. When designing our new house we decided to stick with traditional vs. trendy. We didn’t want to pick something that may not be trendy in 5 years and that we would want to change or that requires a buyer with the same decor style. I’m planning to add my decorative style with the lighting (which is easy and relatively inexpensive to swap out) and the home decor.

There are many different quizzes out there to find your decorative style and I have taken several and gotten many different results. I’ve come to the conclusion that my style is mainly a mix of “french country” and “traditional” with a small amount of “coastal” decor. That doesn’t mean that I don’t like other styles but these styles are what I gravitate to.
