Christmas Wedding Reception Details
Planning the reception was my absolute favorite part of the wedding planning. I knew the ceremony would be brief so why spend a lot of time and money on the decorations. Plus I love a good party!
One of the great things about a Christmas Wedding is that most churches and venues are already decorated for Christmas. Our church already had Christmas trees in the lobby and the reception venue already had a beautiful tree up. Plus you can go cut pine for free! Me, my mom and cousin Jenn were out cutting pine/greenery two days before the wedding. It’s festive and free and I love both!
Luckily I was able to buy a lot of Christmas/Wedding decor on clearance after Christmas – another benefit to having a long engagement! I pretty much bought EVERYTHING I COULD FIND in our wedding colors. Seriously, I was out of control. I had so much random stuff it was crazy! The challenge was making it all appear that it was purchased together and for a purpose and we recruited some help from a family friend for that! Thank you Mrs. Debbie – you were a life saver!!!!
Also, have you noticed the crystal beaded decoration EVERYWHERE?! I cannot go into Marshalls, TJMaxx, Michaels or Hobby Lobby without seeing it all over. We used that as centerpieces and ran with it! It was easy and affordable and sparkly like everything else in my wedding! Apparently I went with the theme “The more bling, the better”
Here are several pictures from the wedding and I apologize for overloading you but I just wanted to show you how many options there are for Christmas wedding decorations!
This tree was already at the venue, we just replaced all the red ornaments with pinks ornaments and poinsettias I had purchased. The guests ended up putting the gifts under the tree which I loved!
Of course we had to have a coffee/hot cocoa bar even if it ended up being in the 60s that day! You can print the hot cocoa sign for yourself! It is perfect for a 4×6 frame for any event with a cocoa/coffee bar! I printed mine on the sparkly/pearlized cardstock paper and it looks great! Download yours here.
Here are the favors, you can view the full post about them here.
And of course we had to throw snow for the go away! Hindsight, we needed more snow!
Catering: Ashley’s Creative Catering – seriously the most delicious food and best looking food I’ve EVER seen at a wedding! If you’re in the Madison/ Huntsville/Decatur area, check her out!
