DIY Fall Decor
Don’t you just love this time of year? It’s finally getting cooler here and the leaves and trees are so beautiful! This past weekend I put away all the Halloween decorations and put out a few fall things. I wanted to find a good place for the book wreath I just made so I decided to use it along with all my shabby chic/DIY projects and I am very happy with the way it turned out! Now I just wish I had a more shabby chic table for it all to go on…maybe one day! 🙂
Everything on this table together cost me about $12 total.
- Window – found on the side of the road so it was FREE. A couple of the glass panes were knocked out already so I just went ahead and knocked them all out and I actually like it better without the glass for this purpose anyways!
- Book wreath – made for $1 – you can see the tutorial here
- Initial Pumpkin – Â had a craft pumpkin in storage from years ago and painted it to use for Halloween and Thanksgiving
- Lantern – found a couple months ago at TJMaxx on clearance for $10
- Small Pumpkin – got it after the season on clearance about 5 years ago
As for the wheat looking stuff coming out of the vase – that was a quick project I did this weekend for the table. We have a pampas grass bush in front of work with fall looking straw stuff  growing out the top. I couldn’t help but think of this post on pinterest where they used wheat to decorate for fall (see inspiration below)
This is a pampas grass bush like the one that I cut from. Doesn’t it look fall-ish?
I took an empty bottle left over from a party and wrapped it with twine, hot gluing it in spots along the way and ta-da! You have a very fall looking vase and pampas straw and all I had to buy was the twine – which of course I had purchased with a coupon at Michaels.
I’d love to get more ideas of DIY Fall decor so if you have them please leave a comment!
