Traditional Rustic Master Bedroom
I’ve been a little quiet on my blog as I try to learn to balance mom life and a full time job and everything else. This blog is a fun hobby for me and where I get to be creative and the truth is…I miss it!! I’ve been craving some change around the house and craving a little more simplicity. I think I’ve been hesitant to share anything because I feel like there no space that is 100% complete the way I want it and I don’t really know when it’ll be “done”. And if I’m being honest my house is rarely clean anymore and that’s another time struggle in itself! But if I’ve learned anything from this blogging journey is that your style grows and evolves like you do and it doesn’t have to be 100% perfect to enjoy it along the way.
Our bedroom was one of the first rooms I started decorating when we moved in our new house 3.5 years ago and I’ve been itching to make some small changes just to freshen it up a bit. I had purchased some cheap second hand night stands that worked great as a temporary thing but we finally were able to find and buy nightstands that were what we really wanted which prompted a small refresh of the room.
I asked for help on Instagram and got so much great feedback on the lamps…are they absolutely perfect, No! But they were what I had already and I love that they are unique and one of a kind. You can see the makeover I did to them HERE. So I’ll probably be looking for new shades for these or new lamps altogether but I’m a shop the house kind of gal and love to make the best with what I have.
While my grandma was in town for the holidays she made me this beautiful blue linen lumbar pillow and it was absolutely perfect for our master! I usually try to help with the sewing projects so it’s time we get to spend together but this year was harder than normal with Ellie so she did it without me. It’s still something she made that I wish cherish having in my home!
I also realized I hadn’t really shared our bedroom in a long time so it was time to do a little master bedroom tour anyways!
I also took down some of the gallery wall and just left our DIY wedding window. I wanted something less busy on our walls!
It’s always a work in progress but it’s slowly but surely coming together. I am still working on the lamp situation and I’d love to do some kind of accent wall behind the bed and the new nightstands sparked the debate of new dressers but for now, I love how it’s looking and I’m enjoying the journey!
