Favorite Winter Books for a 3 Year Old
You guys have loved the book ledges and I keep getting messages about sharing some of our favorite books everytime we change them up so I’m going to try to not only share in my Instagram stories like I normally do, but post them here as well! I never got around to sharing Christmas books on my blog so make sure to follow along on Instagram and I go more in depth on our favorites and why!
After Christmas was over I packed away all the Christmas books..which I have A LOT of.. And transitioned to our winter books. I don’t have nearly as many to fill the shelves yet but I got a few new ones this year and I know every year our collection will grow a little more.
Her Top Favorite:
Mo in the Snow – This was Ellie’s #1 Favorite Winter book last winter and this winter (ages 2.5 and 3.5). The book does a lot of rhyming and is a fun story about Mo finding a big hairy toe which Ellie thinks is hilarious. Cute story and perfect length for these ages.
Some of our other Favorites:
Snow Globe Wishes – this one is new to us this year. I was searching around for some new books to add to our collection and stumbled up on this one. It was a little more expensive than I normally spend on books but it is a beautifully illustrated book about how magical snow days when it’s almost like the world stops and everyone just spends time as a family and with neighbors.
Snowmen at Night – A really cute story about “what snowmen do at night” and why they never look the same the next morning!
The Little Snowplow (currently on sale for $4.50) – and probably one of my favorites. It’s about this little snowplow that was teased by all the big trucks so he works extra hard to make sure he’s at his best and then he ends up having to save one of the large trucks. Super super cute underdog story!
A Loud Winter’s Nap – just a really cute story about a tortoise who hates winter and everyone around him is enjoying all the things winter has to offer. He is annoyed but finds himself in a situation where he realizes winter may not be so bad and enjoys a winter night with his friends.
Some Classics:
Tacky the Penguin – this was actually recommended to me from a friend on Instagram and is super cute and encourages being unique and yourself!
The Mitten (currently on sale for $5) – Just a sweet story that’s been around for over 30 years about a little boy who lost his mitten in the snow and lots of animals find shelter in it. It’s a sweet story with cute illustrations.
We love buying and reading books so I’m always looking for new ones to add to our collection! I’d love to hear your favorite Kids Books in the comments so we can check them out!
