Transitioning to Spring Decor
I’ve mentioned a lot recently how I’m anxious for Spring and I finally just gave in and decided to start transitioning to some spring decor in my living room. Instead of bringing out my pastels and flowers, I decided to keep it simple with greenery since it’s still technically winter.
My console table is always my first piece to style and restyle. I picked up a bunch of these vintage inspired clay pots from Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago and I wanted to use them for sure! Although I had ideas, this styled console took a couple days of tweaking to get it to a point where I liked it. I have mentioned before but most often I am happy when I let a space evolve over time.
One of the main things I knew I wanted to do was use this Farmhouse Drying Rack (affiliate) with the smallest clay pots. I used some of my succulents I’ve been propagating and moved them into a couple of the clay pots as well. This is the first year I’ve been able to use them inside the house instead of fake ones so I am thrilled about that!
The rustic barrel ottoman is always one of my favorite pieces to incorporate with my console table. I added this botanical pillow I had bought off an Instagram sale last Spring and it matched the console table and pots perfectly.
For the wreath I wanted to keep it neutral so I used a wood rosette wreath from Home Goods that I’ve had for almost 4 years and added this DIY Moss Initial I made a couple years ago. It seems to be the perfect transition wreath before I’m ready to go floral!
I knew I wanted to use my Ikea topiaries. Hobby Lobby had a larger size of these pots that fit them perfectly and then I just added some moss to give them a more finished look. I just stacked all of the different sized pots I had left over and put them all in a galvanized tray.
As for the other side of the living room, I use more of the clay pots and some faux boxwood balls that are also from Hobby Lobby. I put them on some candlesticks with another Ikea topiary and my Casa Beads from my sweet friend Aly.
Those are all of the little spring touches I’ve added. I have to admit these vintage inspired clay pots are some that I’ve passed by for the past two years and missed out so this year I stocked up and I’m so glad I did! With the 50% off they varied from $1.50 – $6 a piece which to me was a steal! They each have so much character and will look awesome on my potting bench when I’m done using them in the living room.
