My Clearance Accent Chair
Remember when I told you how the Lord often blesses me with great deals here? Well…it happened again this weekend so of course I have to share!
If you remember my birthday wish list, I wanted an accent chair for our bedroom. I didn’t have a specific one picked out so my in-laws just gave me money to shop for one. I shared on Instagram last week that my goal budget was $200 or less but the more I looked the more I doubted that would actually happen. I still wanted a decent quality chair but I was finding was going to be tough in that budget.
I did A LOT of local shopping. I went to multiple Tuesday Morning stores, multiple TJMaxx stores, Home Goods, Marshalls, Steinmart, and Target. I also did A LOT of online shopping and I’ll share a roundup of my online finds later this week for those who may be interested. I just couldn’t decide on one online. The ones that were in the budget had decent reviews but I just had doubts of the size, comfort, etc. and the one I thought was the best fit was going to be around $300 after tax and shipping which was more than I had hoped.
Yesterday after church I decided to go back to the first TJMaxx I checked to look again and found two upholstered arm chairs on clearance in a section I hadn’t chcked the last time I was there. One problem: they both had legs that were broken. I didn’t know what it would take to fix them so I went home and a few hours later came back with my husband back to check it out. Turns out the wood where the leg attached had broken but we thought it was would be an easy patch job so we decided to give it a shot!
After about 20 minutes of patching it up with scrap wood and extra screws, this chair was perfect and I only paid $81.75, tax and all… I couldn’t even believe it!!! It’s a Broyhill chair that retails for $399 and is really comfortable! It wouldn’t have been my top choice for style but that price more than made up for it and gosh it is super comfortable!I won this mandala from my beautiful friend Kate at Salvage Dior a couple weeks ago and I thought it might work perfect over the chair. I love the texture it brings to the area. I used a wooden garden stool that I found at my favorite thrift store and like that, this area came together for such a small cost!
I’m thrilled with my clearance chair find from TJMaxx and will add this to my long list of the ways the Lord blesses us with great deals like this!
