It is Well with my Soul – DIY Cabinet Door Sign
I posted earlier this week how I made the “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” sign.
This project was so simple that I figured I’d make another one using another cabinet door I had painted months ago.
For this cabinet door I used the Valspar Weathered Crackle Glaze.
All I Did was paint the cabinet door teal and let that dry. Then I generously applied this Crackle Glaze that I purchased at Lowes and let that dry completely. With any crackle glaze, the thicker the coat the larger the cracks and I wanted to make sure they were large and noticeable. Then I applied the white paint, making sure I didn’t brush over any one place more than once to make sure I didn’t paint over the crackle effect.
I used the Hazel & Ruby stencils for this sign as well. I just applied the letters and then traced them with a pencil.
I used a black paint pen for this sign which was quite a bit easier and quicker than using a paint brush like I used for the other sign. I outlined the letters first and then went back and filled them in.
Once I completed the letters I used a palm sander to distress them to match the crackle/weathered background.
This sign will be available over at Hamby Home Décor! And thank you to all of you who sent recommendations for this sign on Instagram!
