Copycat Original Oyster House Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Pie
If you’re from Alabama then chances are you’ve been to Gulf Shores or Orange Beach and most likely have eaten at the Original Oyster House but if you haven’t, then you should. You’re missing out! Original Oyster House is by far my favorite restaurant in the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area. They have some of the best seafood…seriously I have loved everything I have ever tried! For years I left so stuffed that I never considered their dessert. I eventually tried their peanut butter pie and it was life changing! The whipped creamy peanut butter goodness with chocolate chips is TO DIE FOR! I make sure to get a slice or an entire pie anytime I go there now!
Well for Mother’s Day my sister was cooking dinner and I was in charge of dessert and I thought this pie would be perfect on a hot day! It gave me an excuse to get out my Kitchen-aid Mixer that doesn’t get nearly enough use! I got this mixer for a wedding gift and LOVE it even if I haven’t gotten to use it often! These are available in so many colors that it was hard to choose but I’m loving my decision to go with the “Caviar” color (sparkly black).
Here is the Original Oyster House Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Pie Recipe
- 8 oz cream cheese (1)
- 16-oz tub Whip Topping (thawed)
- (1) cup peanut butter
- 1 Tablespoon Kahlua
- 8 oz powdered sugar
- 3/4 cup miniature chocolate chips
- (1) Oreo pie shell
** I did not have Kahlua at the house so I left this out and I also had to substitute the oreo pie shell for a chocolate pie shell because they didn’t have Oreo at the grocery store but it still tasted amazing!
Directions: Mix cream cheese, peanut butter, Kahlua and powdered sugar together. Add cool whip and blend well. Fold in chocolate chips. Pour into pie shell. Freeze or Refrigerate.
Note: Keep refrigerated.
This pie is so delicious and was a huge hit after Mother’s Day dinner! I can’t wait to get home tonight and eat a piece that is left over! 🙂
