Wooden Spool and Milk Can Table

I love using a mix of old items and new items with my decor. After searching for months for an old milk can, I finally stumbled upon this one for $18 at the thrift store last Spring…I was ecstatic! I used it for a little while on my porch but then it was put away in the attic because I just hadn’t found the perfect place for it. I was brainstorming some ideas porches and started thinking it would make the perfect base of a table and thought a spool top would work great with it but little did I know, how great.

I knew it was going to be close but when I realized the spool had a groove that fit the milk can PERFECTLY, I felt like a genius!!! The milk can is heavy enough to use as a base and with the ridge in the spool, it locks in place nicely where it’s a sturdy table as long as whatever is sitting on top is pretty much centered.

I’m thrilled with this discovery and I’ll probably be trying it on our front porch this weekend but I couldn’t wait to share with you!
