Spring is here and it’s time to start working on those porches and patios. My front porch isn’t large but I always enjoy styling it and giving it some curb appeal. My husband and I popped into Big Lots the other day to shop around and their outdoor decor selection was stocked with so many great items that were trendy, good quality and affordable; from gazebos, to planters, to cushions and so much more. I wanted to show you my finds and how I used them to get my front porch Spring-ready.

I mean look at all of this good stuff!! I cannot seem to get enough outdoor decor, my hubby will tell you I have a problem!

big-lots-shopping-trip Here are a few must-haves that I think are crucial to get your porch Spring-ready!

  1. Planters – I always start with planters. Big Lots had a great selection of all different colors and styles of planters but I ultimately decided to get the blue and teal because I already had several items that would work with those colors and they’re so vibrant and noticeable even from the road. Personally, I really like to use several pots together instead of just one. I like grouping sizes and complimentary colors to give it a little more character. Now I’m anxiously waiting for my coleus to grow and start filling up that awesome blue planter.

  1. Pillows – No matter what kind of seating you have, pillows or cushions are always a great way to bring color and character to your porch. These blue, green and teal floral pillows grabbed my attention in the store immediately and I am thrilled with how they look on our rockers. They matched the planters perfectly and the items we already owned…major Score on these!

  1. Shepherds Hook – I love hanging baskets and any kind of shepherds hooks but this one in stood out from all the rest. It has great iron detail and the cutest little solar light on top to give it the perfect amount of character. I got the shorter hook to use in a barrel of mixed flowers and it’s perfect for a welcome sign at your front door. If you are in the market for them, Big Lots had the best selection of shepherd hooks that I’ve seen. They also had awesome plant brackets for hanging plants or lanterns on your fence, which I do every year to give my backyard and fence some character!
